# The Referendum Party is ready to submit its Non-Racialism Bill to Parliament

# The Referendum Party says it has now formally notified the Parliament Portfolio Committee on Justice and Constitutional Development that it will be petitioning the committee to adopt and table its Non-Racialism Bill. The Referendum leader, Phil Craig says the party has also requested an audience with the committee to introduce and motivate for the Bill. He says in essence, the Bill asserts that a race-based policy is fundamentally incompatible with a constitutional order founded on non-racialism:
# The MK Party has strongly condemned what it called “the deliberate spread of misinformation” regarding an alleged dispute between Parliament chief whip, Mzwanele Manyi and its party Leader, John Hlophe. uMkhonto weSizwe spokesperson, Nhlamulo Ndhlela says there are certain sponsored ghost social media accounts on X, formlerly Twitter, as well as sections of the mainstream media that have irresponsibly circulated false claims including an outright fabrication of a supposed “physical altercation”, between the two leaders in Parliament. He says these allegations are entirely baseless.
# The Rural and Farmworkers Development Organisation has strongly condemned the kidnapping, brutal assault, and rape of a seasonal female farmworker, allegedly at the hands of two police officers in Paarl, in the Western Cape. The organisation spokesperson, Billy Claasen says it is alleged that last Sunday, a seasonal farmworker was picked up by two police officers under the pretext of offering her transport to her intended destination:
# The ongoing conflicts in Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo are expected to overshadow deliberations by African leaders as they are gathering in Addis Ababa for the 38th African Union Summit, starting today. Angola’s Foreign minister Tete Antonio told reporters at the AU headquarters in Addis Ababa that for the continent to achieve sustainability targets of 2063, it needed to sort out all of Africa’s troubles and make it a better place free of conflicts. President Cyril Ramaphosa is also attending the conference that continues until tomorrow.
# And motorsport: Williams are the latest team to reveal their 2025 F1 car, the FW47, at Silverstone in the UK. The event marked the public debut of the team’s high-profile drivers, Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon. Sainz, formerly with the Ferrari team, took the first lap in the new livery yesterday. He expressed satisfaction with his initial experience driving the car. Williams’ team principal James Vowles described the FW47 as an evolution of last season’s car.
