# Civil rights group AfriForum plans to request US president Donald Trump to direct potential punitive measures at ANC leaders instead of South African citizens. This comes after Trump accused South Africa of land confiscation and human rights violations. AfriForum’s Kallie Kriel urges the South African government to amend the Expropriation Act to protect property rights, warning of economic consequences:
# Education activist, Hendrick Makaneta, has cautioned parents and guardians to be vigilant about misleading requests for registration fees. As institutions of higher learning are set to begin the academic year this month, the public is urged to be cautious and informed about the registration fee policy for National Student Financial Aid Scheme-funded students. Makaneta says the scheme fully covers registration fees for eligible students from poor and working-class backgrounds:
# National police commissioner Fannie Masemola has announced that police will this week welcome an additional five-thousand-500 new police trainees into its academies. Masemola was providing an update on police’s nationwide safer festive season operations in Pretoria. He says these recruits will undergo the Basic Police Learning Development Programme across the country:
# Cricket: Only four matches remain in this year’s SA20. Tomorrow, the two teams at the top of the log, MI Cape Town and neighbours Paarl Royals, will face off in Gqeberha in the first qualifier. The winner will go straight through to Saturday’s final at the Wanderers and the loser will get another chance to reach the final in Thursday’s second qualifier in Centurion. The opponent will be the winner of Wednesday’s eliminator between Joburg Super Kings and defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape, also in Centurion.

Gold sells at two-thousand-795-dollars-48-cents a fine ounce and Brent crude oil is quoted at 76-dollars-20-cents a barrel.
# And finally: A versatile dance studio and non-profit organisation in Mamelodi, Gauteng, Tha Kuad Dance Studio, is focused on the development of dance, building a dance academy for the community, and training dancers for the profession. The studio offers teaching from contemporary to jazz and amapiano dances for free. Co-founder, choreographer and dancer Ntsatsaile Mapheto says the studio is all about sharing talent, learning from each other, but most importantly, keeping Mamelodi’s children away from the streets, crime and drugs.
