# Government has condemned Israel’s air strike in Qatar’s capital of Doha, calling it an illegal and unprovoked attack. Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, stated that the strike was fully justified because it targeted senior Hamas leaders who organised the 7 October 2023 attacks. Five Hamas members were killed. The Department of International Relations and Cooperation’s spokesperson, Chrispin Phiri, says the attack on Qatari territory constitutes a blatant violation of international law, while also compromising the safeguarding of civilians:
# Government says Walmart’s investment in South Africa is an expression of confidence, and underscores a strong belief in the country’s economic trajectory. The US retail giant plans to open its first branded stores in the country later this year. Their stores will offer fresh groceries, household essentials, clothing and technology, adding emphasis on sourcing products from local small and medium enterprises. Government spokesperson William Baloyi says this investment is also confirmation that the country remains a reliable investment destination:

# Rugby: Springbok utility back Ethan Hooker says despite having a mixture of nerves and excitement, he is focused solely on playing to the best of his ability. The 22-year-old will earn his first Test start on Saturday when South Africa takes on New Zealand in Wellington. He came off the replacements bench in Eden Park last week. Hooker says his only objective is to go out there and express himself without fear:
