# ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba is set to reveal the party’s candidates for Parliament on Monday, marking its debut in national elections. Mashaba underscores the meticulous candidate selection process spanning months was aimed at ensuring the election of competent representatives. He emphasises the formation of ‘Team Fix SA’ to guide the party across strategic policy domains and urges South Africans to rally behind the quest for change.
# The Tshwane mayor and his coalition government are under fire for allegedly ignoring residents of Bronkhorstspruit’s struggles amidst service delivery challenges. Reports indicate a severe water shortage enduring for two months and unreliable electricity for nearly three weeks. Protesters have occupied municipal offices, demanding restoration of normal services. Cilliers Brink is accused of repeatedly failing to fulfil promises to address water infrastructure issues despite commitments. Concerns about governance and financial stability arise amid significant economic losses and a looming qualified audit report.
# The South African National Roads Agency has informed motorists about lane closures on the N3 highway between Westville Viaduct and Paradise Valley Interchange in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, from Monday to 22 March. SANRAL says the closures, scheduled between 8pm and 4.30am, are necessary for repainting lane markings and installing road studs as part of the ongoing N3 road upgrades. SANRAL urges motorists to plan their trips, use alternative routes and follow speed limits during this period of construction.
# Education activist Hendrick Makaneta has urged Justice and Correctional Services minister Ronald Lamola to take Afghanistan to the International Court of Justice for banning girls from attending classes. Makaneta argues, South Africa should fight for inclusive education in Afghanistan. He plans to request Lamola to investigate and pursue legal action against Afghan authorities:
# And, Cycling: South African pro cyclist Tiffany Keep has clinched victory in the 46th Cape Town Cycle Tour Women’s Race, completing the 78-kilometer race in two hours and 12 minutes. Namibian Vera Looser secured second place, with Carla Oberholzer third. Keep is elated, calling the win a highlight of her year. She vowed to pursue her goals further:

Meanwhile, South Africa’s Kent Main has won the men’s elite race of the tour in two hours, 31-minutes and 21-seconds. Charlie Aldridge of Britain finished second, 14 seconds behind Main, while another South African, Alan Hatherly was third. The men’s elite race covered 109-kilometers.
