# Police are calling on Thato Madisha and Sello Uoane to hand themselves over at their nearest police station. Police spokesperson, Athlenda Mathe says the two are wanted suspects in the case of murdered journalist, Aserie Ndlovu and his partner Zodwa Mdhluli, whose bodies were found in the KwaMhlanga area in Mpumalanga. She says police believe the pair may have played a role or have information about the kidnapping and killing of the couple:
# Eskom says it does not anticipate the implementation of load-shedding during this winter season if unplanned outages remain below 13-thousand-megawatts. On Monday, Eskom presented its Winter Outlook for the period ending 31 August and it remains in effect. Eskom spokesperson, Daphne Mokwena says if outages increase to 15-thousand-megawatts, load-shedding would be limited to a maximum of 21 days out of 153 days at Stage 2:
# ActionSA in Gauteng urges premier Panyaza Lesufi to take swift and decisive action against all provincial government officials who failed lifestyle audits. ActionSA’s Zwelithini Mtshali says criminal charges must be filed, and the Asset Forfeiture Unit must seize those assets which are proceeds of criminal activities. He says the results of these audits and subsequent actions taken should be publicly available to restore trust in government and ensure accountability:
# India and Pakistan have accused each other of violations hours after they had agreed to a ceasefire, brokered by the USA. The agreement on a full and immediate ceasefire came after four days of cross-border strikes. Pakistan later confirmed the agreement had been reached by the two countries, adding that three dozen countries were involved in the diplomacy. However, India later announced that there was a breach of the understanding arrived at earlier. In response Pakistan said the country remains committed to faithful implementation of ceasefire between the two countries, in spite of violations by India.
# And now rugby news: The Bulls took another step closer to a home semifinal as they bulldozed Welsh side Cardiff 45-21 at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday, thanks to a powerful forwards performance and a masterclass at the back from Willie le Roux. Le Roux stepped in as playmaker and assisted in three of the Bulls’ tries, after an injured Johan Goosen limped off the field. Harold Vorster, Wilco Louw, Canan Moodie and Cameron Hanekom each scored a try for the Bulls with Sebastian de Klerk adding two. Keagan Johannes converted five of the tries with Johan Goosen adding another conversion as well as a penalty.
And finally, the Stormers took another step towards the United Rugby Championship playoffs with a comprehensive 48-12 win over the Dragons in their penultimate league match at a wet Cape Town Stadium on Saturday. They ran in seven tries to two and the bonus point ensured that they go into the final league game against Cardiff here next Friday in fifth position. The Stormers’ tries came from Wandisile Simelane with two, Seabelo Senatla, Stefan Ungerer, Damian Willemse, Suleiman Hartzenberg and Paul de Wet. The rest of their points came off the boots of Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu and Willemse.
