# Israel cuts off Gaza’s electricity supply
# And soccer: Bafana Bafana makes a breakthrough in the African Nations Championship
# IFP leader Velenkosini Hlabisa is calling for the revision of legislation governing the deportation of undocumented immigrants. He delivered the keynote address during the IFP in Gauteng’s extended provincial council meeting on Sunday. Hlabisa says they are looking at introducing a bill in Parliament aimed at streamlining the process of deporting undocumented foreign nationals. He adds that while they are advocating for the deportation of undocumented foreign nationals, the party is not xenophobic:
# The Department of Social Development has strongly refuted media reports that 50 non-governmental organisations are being probed for terror funding and money laundering. This comes amid rising concerns regarding financial oversight in the non-profit sector. The department’s spokesperson, Bathembu Futshane, says they recently hosted a symposium to make the sector aware of South Africa’s obligations concerning the implementation of anti-money laundering and counter-terror financing measures:

Israeli Energy minister Eli Cohen says they will use all means available to ensure the return of all hostages. Hamas has accused Israel of cheap and unacceptable blackmail over its decision.
# Soccer: South Africa is through to the final round of the African Nations Championship qualifiers after beating Egypt 3-1 at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia. Goals from captain Neo Maema, Yandisa Mfolozi, and Siphelele Luthuli’s penalty, ensured Bafana Bafana won the two-legged tie 4-2 on aggregate after drawing the first leg one-all in Bloemfontein a week ago. Bafana Bafana will face Malawi next to determine who qualifies for the CHAN finals to be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda in August.

Gold sells at two-thousand-910-dollars-75-cents a fine ounce and Brent crude oil is quoted at 69-dollars-84-cents a barrel.
# And finally, the DA says Athol Fugard’s profound contributions to South African theatre and the struggle for freedom will reverberate through generations. The Eastern Cape-born Fugard, who passed away at the age of 92, shot to international fame with Blood Knot in 1961. The DA’s, Joe McGluwa, says South Africans are mourning the passing of a literary giant:
