# WHO loses touch with its staff as medics say a Gaza hospital had been raided by Israel
# And, tennis: England’s number one Jack Draper in through to the finals of the ATP 500 Vienna Open
# MK Party national organiser Floyd Shivambu claims the MK Party Caucus boasts the most capable leadership in Parliament. Shivambu stated that party leaders could govern efficiently, outperforming the ANC, DA, or EFF. However, he acknowledged the party’s lacking experience in building a successful political organisation. He says that his focus is ensuring the party thrives as it grows into a formidable opposition force:
Shivambu also disclosed in a podcast interview that most of the EFF leaders, except leader Julius Malema, knew his planned departure to the MK Party long before it was public. Shivambu claimed the leaders begged him not to inform Malema that they knew. He stated that he conceptualised the EFF’s structure, its name, leadership titles, and manifesto:
# The head of the World Health Organisation says reports of an Israeli raid on a hospital in northern Gaza are “deeply disturbing”. Director-general Tedros Ghebreyesus said he had “lost touch” with personnel at the hospital since reports of the raid emerged. Tarik Jasarevic, a spokesperson for WHO, told Sky News the situation remains very unclear, with reports of hostilities and evacuation orders. The Israel Defence Force stormed the Kamal Adwan Hospital last night after it was fired upon by tanks, according to Palestinian officials and medics at the facility.
# Tennis: British number one player, Jack Draper reached the finals of the ATP 500 Vienna Open tournament for the first time by beating Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti 6-2 6-4. In the other semi-final yesterday the world number 24 Russian Karen Kachanov defeated second seeded Alex de Minaur from Australia to remain on course for his third title of the year and second in a row after victory in Almaty, Kazakhstan, last week.
# And, to end with: Shoprite’s Checkers brand has launched a specially branded Sixty60 aircraft in partnership with LIFT airline. South Africa’s first retail plane, the Airbus A320, featuring the iconic Sixty60 logo, made its inaugural flight from Johannesburg to Cape Town the past week. It will operate regular flights this summer, connecting Johannesburg, Durban, and Cape Town. Analysts praised the initiative as a clever marketing strategy in a competitive retail landscape.
