Good morning. I am……..
In this bulletin:
# The GOOD Party supports the draft statement of intent of the government of national unity
# Al Jama-ah accuses the DA of taking control of the government of national unity
# And rugby: The Sale Sharks could be targeting the Stormers’ scrum King
# The GOOD party says it supports the current proposals contained in the draft document of intent of the government of national unity. The GOOD party Secretary-General, Brett Herron, says the party signed the Statement of Intent, following a recent meeting between GOOD and the ANC’s negotiating team in Johannesburg. Herron says they have had no discussions about positions in the government of national unity nor did they make any demand for positions:
# Al Jama-ah leader, Ganief Hendricks says the DA is hell-bent on taking control of the government of national unity. Hendricks says the signed ‘Statement of Intent’ between the two parties is opening the doors for power sharing between the former oppressors and the former black liberation movement. He says president Cyril Ramaphosa has made a strong statement that there is no grand alliance with the DA, but the ‘Statement of Intent’ indicates otherwise:
# The City of Cape Town’s water and sanitation maintenance teams will be out in full force as the City embarks on mass repairs from today until Sunday. This will include pipe and valve installations, repairs, and replacements, which will affect some areas starting today. Residents are urged to start storing enough water as a precautionary measure since the water supply in some areas may be disrupted. Residents in the affected areas are encouraged to take note of the work and prepare accordingly.
# One of Switzerland’s leading art museums says it will remove five paintings from one of its exhibitions while it investigates whether they were looted by the Nazis. The works in the Kunsthaus Zurich Museum are by some of the world’s most acclaimed artists, including Claude Monet and Vincent van Gogh. The decision to remove the paintings follows the publication of new guidelines aimed at dealing with the large number of cultural works that have still not been returned to the families they were stolen from.
# Rugby: A Stormers star has reportedly emerged as a potential target for English Premiership club Sale Sharks. According to RugbyPass, Sale are keen on recruiting hooker Joseph Dweba, despite a failed earlier bid to sign him. The 28-year-old played the last of his six Tests for the Springboks against Argentina in 2023, but just missed the final cut for the Rugby World Cup squad. Dweba is one of nine Stormers players included in the Bok camp for the Twickenham clash against Wales on Saturday.
# And the financial indicators: The dollar trades at 18-rand-27-cents and the euro at 19-rand-60-cents. One British pound costs 23-rand-21-cents and Bitcoin trades at 65-thousand-542-dollars-32-cents. Gold sells at two-thousand-322-dollars-91-cents a fine ounce and Brent crude oil is quoted at 84-dollars-9-cents a barrel.
