# The DA says the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure’s asset management record has become a national liability. The department has launched an internal investigation into the mismanagement of the Telkom Towers complex, the headquarters of the South African Police Service, in Pretoria. # The South African Communist Party says the leaking of the ANC electoral candidates list appears to be part of the wider reactionary agenda to dislodge the ruling party. The list, which includes personal information of the ANC’s national and provincial candidates, started making the rounds on social media a short while after the party submitted it to the Independent Electoral Commission last week Friday. The SACP says effective remedial action to address the damaging effect of the leak on the upcoming elections and every person on the list is needed.
# Western Cape MEC of Mobility Ricardo Mackenzie has expressed concern at the number of facilities recorded on the province’s road in the past few weeks. Over the weekend, 13 people died in a bus crash on the N1 at the Hexrivier Pass near De Doorns. Preliminary reports indicate that the driver of the bus lost control and collided with a truck before crashing into the rock wall of the pass. Mackenzie says the bus was travelling towards Cape Town carrying 60 passengers:
# Soccer: Reigning champions Manchester City and Liverpool played to a one-all draw at Anfield as the race for the Premier League title heats up. John Stones’ first-half opener gave the visitors the lead, but Alexis Mac Allister scored the leveller from the penalty spot early in the second half for the home side. Leaders Arsenal are only above Liverpool on goal difference, while City are just one point behind them in third. City manager, Pep Guardiola, says the match was tough against an incredible team:
