# Parliament has honoured former deputy president David Mabuza legacy of humility, service, and commitment to the ideals of South Africa’s constitutional democracy. He says Mabuza was a significant figure in South African political life and served the country in various senior roles, including as premier of Mpumalanga and ultimately as deputy president. # Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chiloane is urging learners, parents, and community members to be vigilant when purchasing food items and to avoid purchasing from unauthorised food vendors. # The US Congress has passed Donald Trump’s sprawling tax and spending bill in a significant and hard-fought victory for the president and his domestic agenda. The Congressional Budget Office estimates the bill could add more than 57-trillion-rand to federal deficits over the next ten years and leave millions without health coverage; a forecast the White House disputes. Trump is expected to sign it into law at a ceremony today.
# Rugby: The South African Rugby Union, SuperSport, and the SABC announced an agreement between the two media houses for the SABC to broadcast the upcoming second test between South Africa and Italy. The agreement has been reached in recognition of the historic nature of the match, which will mark the 30th anniversary of the Springboks’ 1995 Rugby World Cup victory. It forms part of the celebrations by SARU to commemorate this historic moment for the country. The match on 12 July will be broadcast live on SABC 2, SABC Radio stations, and on SuperSport.
