# And motorsport: Hamilton wins the Belgian Grand Prix after Russell’s disqualification
# The MK Party says it is despicable that an ANC National Disciplinary Committee document revealing that former president Jacob Zuma has been expelled from the party has been leaked. The committee found Zuma guilty of breaching the ANC’s constitution and recommended he be expelled. The former president’s hearing was held virtually last week, with party Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula as the key witness. MK Party’s spokesperson, Nhlamulo Ndhlela, told the SABC that they have not received any formal communication from the ANC:
# The Council for Medical Schemes has applied for leave to appeal the High Court in Pretoria ruling lifting the provisional curatorship on the South African Post Office medical scheme Medipos. In February, the council obtained a high court order placing the scheme under provisional curatorship, arguing that it is financially unviable. However, on the 19th of this month, the provisional curatorship was lifted following a challenge by the board of trustees. The Board of Healthcare Funders says the council’s decision to appeal is regrettable and might constitute wasteful expenditure.
# Airports Company South Africa says it has been able to bring some circuits back on including SAA, Delta, and United Airlines. This comes after no flights were able to land at or depart from Cape Town International Airport yesterday evening, due to a power supply challenge that affected runway lights and air traffic navigation services. Several FlySafair flights from Johannesburg to Cape Town were diverted to Chief Dawid Stuurman International Airport in Gqeberha, while two flights from Johannesburg to Cape Town returned.
# The extradition case of the Ndimande brothers, who were arrested in Eswatini, in connection with the murder of rapper Kiernan AKA Forbes and his friend Tebello Motsoane, will resume in the Manzini Magistrate’s Court today. Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande alongside five others, currently detained in the Westville Correctional Services facility in KwaZulu-Natal, face charges including two counts of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and the unlawful possession of a firearm. Forbes and Motsoane were shot dead outside the Wish restaurant on Durban’s Florida Road in February.
# Motorsport: Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton inherited the Belgian Grand Prix win after his Mercedes teammate George Russell was disqualified. Russell had taken victory following a one-stop strategy, which saw him nurse his hard tyres to the chequered flag, and hold off Hamilton by half a second. However, after the race, his car was found to be underweight. McLaren’s Oscar Piastri was promoted to second, while Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc moved up to third. Hamilton says he is happy with the performance of the car:
