# Solidarity urges the extension of AGOA membership for South Africa
# And, cricket: South Africa is confident ahead of the T20 World Cup final against India
# Former EFF national chairperson, Dali Mpofu, says the ANC has sold out the revolution to redress the injustices of the past by collaborating with right wing forces like the DA in the government of national unity. Mpofu was speaking during an EFF podcast on the government negotiations. He says the ANC has decided to go in bed with the DA, which now has the power to demand any position:
# Trade union Solidarity has formally requested a ten-year extension of South Africa’s membership of the US’ African Growth and Opportunity Act trade agreement. This plea comes amid ongoing reviews in Congress, which will determine AGOA’s fate beyond next year. Solidarity’s economic researcher, Theuns du Buisson, says it benefits nearly 30-thousand of their members across sectors like the chemicals, motor manufacturing, and citrus industries:

The union calls for accountability for fruitless expenditure in the Southern Cape city during Gratz’s tenure and demands a review of contracts and disciplinary cases under her administration. Samwu’s secretary John Mcanjana calls for an investigation into service providers appointed and the exploitation of expanded public works programme workers. Mcanjana hopes her departure will lead to better labour relations and financial management.
# Cricket: South Africa faces a David and Goliath battle in the T20 World Cup final against India at Kensington Oval this afternoon. The Proteas aim for their maiden World Cup trophy after defeating Afghanistan in the semis by nine wickets. India, who beat England by 68 runs, are anticipated to be tough opponents. Players, including fast bowler Kagiso Rabada and batsman Quinton de Kock, will show off their skills against a tough Indian side with veterans, including batsman Virat Kohli, in an exciting showdown.
