# The Azanian People’s Organisation has condemned the inordinate delay of the announcement of the seventh administration cabinet which it claims is tantamount to holding the voters and the nation at ransom. AZAPO’s spokesperson, Jabu Rakwena says in terms of Section 94 of the Constitution the cabinet of the sixth administration ceases to exist upon swearing in of the new president:

# The City of Cape is asking Eskom in Western Cape not to permanently close its community service hubs. Mayoral committee member for Energy, Beverley van Reenen says the permanent closure of service hubs without adequate measures in place for all communities will affect access to electricity services for many Cape Town residents:
The leader of an attempted coup has been arrested by the Bolivian police, hours after the presidential palace in the capital La Paz was stormed by soldiers. The armoured vehicles and troops on Murillo Square where key government buildings are located, later all withdrew. The rebel military leader in charge, Gen Juan José Zúñiga, said he wanted to restructure the democracy through a change of government. He is now under arrest. President Luis Arce condemned the coup attempt, calling on the public to mobilise in favour of democracy.
Cricket: The Proteas are through to the final of the T20 World Cup for the first time ever after they beat Afghanistan with 9 wickets. Afghanistan won the toss at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad, and opted to bat first, but was bowled out for 56 runs in 11 overs and 5 balls. This is the lowest total by any team in a T20 World Cup semifinal and the lowest total against South Africa. South Africa replied with 60 runs for the loss of one wicket in the eighth over. The second semifinal between India and England takes place this afternoon, with the final scheduled for Saturday.
# And the financial indicators: The dollar trades at 18-rand-14-cents and the euro at 19-rand-40-cents. One British pound costs 22-rand-92-cents and Bitcoin trades at 61-thousand-117-dollars-95-cents. Gold sells at two-thousand-198-dollars-72-cents a fine ounce and Brent crude oil is quoted at 84-dollars-24-cents a barrel.
