# All four accused in the Lusikisiki mass murders will return to the local Magistrate’s Court on 26 November. Aphuwe Ndende, Lwando Abi, and Bonga Hintsa were arrested this week and will appear alongside Siphosoxolo Myekethe, who were apprehended shortly after the massacre. Eighteen people were killed when a group of men opened fire on family members in two homes in Ngobozana village. The National Prosecuting Authority’s spokesperson in the Eastern Cape, Luyolo Tyali, says the accused will remain in custody:
# The Congress of South African Students says it supports Basic Education minister Siviwe Gwarube’s call to digitise methods of delivering matric exam papers to centers to prevent tampering. Deputy president Okuhle Dlamini emphasised safeguarding the exam’s integrity. She also stressed that disadvantaged schools must be accommodated in this technological transition:
# President Cyril Ramaphosa will deliver the eulogy at the funeral of former minister of Finance Tito Mboweni today. The funeral takes place at Nkowankowa Stadium in Tzaneen, Limpopo. A special official funeral category 2 was declared in honour of the former finance minister, who died last week aged 65. The funeral will include ceremonial elements from the South African Police Service. Mboweni was South Africa’s first Minister of Labour and served as Governor of the Reserve Bank. The funeral proceeding commence at ten this morning.
# Prosecutors and police have released further information about the circumstances surrounding the death of the former One Direction star, Liam Payne. He died on Wednesday after falling from a balcony on the third floor of a hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina. A post-mortem found he died from multiple trauma injuries and bleeding. The local ambulance service found Payne lying on a patio at the hotel. They said the injuries he suffered proved to be fatal and there was no possibility of resuscitating him.
# And, Road Running: The Cape Town Marathon is set to see a record 21-thousand runners this Sunday. With multiple events taking place today, including trail and peace runs, Sunday’s race covers 42.2-kilometres, passing landmarks from Newlands to Green Point. Featuring wheelchair, elite, and novice athletes, winners stand to earn up over 400-thousand-rand. The marathon, part of the Abbott World Marathon Majors, is vying to become one of the world’s elite marathons.
