# US president Donald Trump ambushed president Cyril Ramaphosa during a meeting at the White House on Wednesday, by playing videos which he claimed pertained to allegations of genocide in South Africa. The pre-cut video montage showed EFF leader Julius Malema chanting “Kill the Boer”. Trump says white South Africans are fleeing because of the violence and the racist laws in the country:
Ramaphosa has during the meeting reiterated that there is no white genocide in South Africa. He stated that people who get killed in the country are not only white people but include black people as well. Ramaphosa also clarified the Expropriation Act:
# Finance minister Enoch Godongwana has announced that an additional 180-billion-rand in spending over the medium term, seeks to focus on critical sectors including education. Speaking on the sidelines after delivering Budget 3.0. Godongwana highlighted the allocations as part of a broader 1.03-trillion-rand investment in public infrastructure over three years. He emphasised that it aims to stimulate economic growth and improve service delivery:
# Tshwane mayor Nasiphi Moya will lead City officials and members of the mayoral committee in an operation targeting hijacked buildings in Pretoria West, through the Reclaim Our City pledge. # A suicide attack on a school bus in southwestern Pakistan killed three students, two adults and wounded at least 38 people. Officials say the latest attack underscores the deteriorating security situation in the region. The explosion took place in Khuzdar in the Balochistan province and targeted a school bus carrying children of military officials. Pakistan’s military accused “Indian proxies” of being behind the attack. Tensions between the two countries spiralled into a brief four-day conflict after a recent massacre of tourists in India-administered Kashmir. A fragile ceasefire has held since then.
# Rugby: The Springboks start their second and final alignment camp for the international season in Cape Town today. Thirty-six players will attend the camp physically, and 18 overseas-based players will join virtually. South Africa’s first Test of the year will be against the Barbarians in Cape Town on the 28th of next month. This will be followed by Tests against Italy in Pretoria and Gqeberha and one against Georgia in Mbombela before the start of the Rugby Championship against Argentinia, Australia and the All Blacks.
