The MK Party withdrew the nomination of its parliamentary leader Hlophe to serve on the JSC yesterday. # The EFF says it will be referring minister of Agriculture John Steenhuisen to Parliament’s Ethics Committee for lying about appointing unqualified staff in his office. According to a parliamentary response from the Department of Public Service and Administration, Steenhuisen made four requests to deviate from the Public Service Act to appoint candidates who do not meet the minimum requirements. The EFF says in response to its question, he denied deviating from recruitment policies. It says Steenhuisen sought a deviation to justify the appointments but lied about this to Parliament.
