# Today’s PowerBall jackpot is down to an estimated five-million-rand after a player won over 59-million-rand in Friday’s draw, playing through Standard Bank’s banking app. The person had the five numbers plus the PowerBall correct, while 20 participants shared just over 35-thousand-800-rand for matching four numbers plus the PowerBall. Today’s PowerBall Plus will be worth about seven-million-rand, while tomorrow’s Lotto Jackpot could earn a lucky player 69-million-rand.
# The Tshwane University of Technology is leading the revolution in engineering education in South Africa. This is through a ground-breaking capacity-building initiative funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering. The university’s doctor Grace Kanakana-Katumba says the initiative is designed to equip academics with the skills to develop industry-relevant modules through project-based learning, fostering a more hands-on and practical approach to education.
# The City of Cape Town says the impact of the Urban Waste Management’s Entrepreneurship Training Programme over the past two years has been profound. One of the beneficiaries of the programme, small business owner Zulfah Hartley from Athlone, has expanded her business and now retails her products in Canal Walk shopping centre. Mayoral committee member for Urban Waste Management, Grant Twigg, says Hartley’s business, Auburn Botanicals, is a plant-based, natural skin-care business which aims to assist women in relieving the symptoms of menopause:
# The renowned Sphere in Las Vegas will host its first-ever electronic music show titled The End of Genesys in December. Anyma, the stage name of Los Angeles-based musician and contemporary artist Matteo Milleri, is expected to feature tracks from his albums Genesys and Genesys Two. He will use Sphere’s advanced technologies, including the world’s highest-resolution LED display. The over 41-billion-rand venue has hosted residencies by the likes of U2, Dead and Co. and Phish.
# And finally: Award-winning singer Billie Eilish has become the latest celebrity to read a CBeebies bedtime story. The programme has been a staple for the UK’s CBeebies channel, introducing children to a world of stories through beautiful, interactive story experiences. Eilish read This Moose Belongs to Me by author and illustrator Oliver Jeffers. Other star musicians who have read a CBeebies bedtime story include Harry Styles, Elton John, Dave Grohl, Ed Sheeran, and Dolly Parton.
