# Former president Jacob Zuma’s daughter, Nomcebo Zuma, is reportedly set to marry King Mswati The Third of Eswatini, becoming his 16th wife. The 21-year-old is the daughter of Zuma and his fifth wife, Nonkululeko Mhlongo. King Mswati’s delegation and senior Zulu royal family members reportedly visited Zuma’s homestead in Nkandla, KwaZulu-Natal last weekend, and paid ten cows as lobola.
Meanwhile, Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Asia’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani, and pharmaceutical heiress Radhika Merchant will marry today after seven months of wedding festivities. The couple have been celebrating their engagement since January, averaging an event every six weeks. The jaw-dropping guest list includes Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, popstar Rihanna, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan and reality star Kim Kardashian. The wedding will be at the 16-thousand-capacity Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, India.
# Meryl Streep confirmed her return for a sequel to The Devil Wears Prada. The 75-year-old American Oscar winner is set to reprise the role of the formidable editor-in-chief of fashion magazine Runway, Miranda Priestly. The new movie will reportedly follow her at the end of her career where she faces the decline of traditional magazine publishing. Emily Blunt, who played her assistant Emily Charlton, will also return, but there isn’t yet confirmation of the participation of Anne Hathaway as the other assistant, Andrea Sachs.
# The Dlalisa Moyeni Foundation and NotInMyName are offering support to Tshwane residents in Mamelodi with a soup kitchen following the cold weather today. The South African Weather Service warns of ongoing cold conditions until Monday, posing challenges for the less privileged. The organisations urge fellow South Africans to donate blankets, clothes, and other essentials to help those in need.
# And finally: The Port Elizabeth Provincial Hospital is set to host its first Smile Weekend, with 25 children to undergo corrective surgery, many of which involve cleft lip and cleft palate repair. July is Cleft and Craniofacial Awareness and Prevention Month. Amongst the children undergoing life-changing surgery is six-year-old Enzokuhle Ntlazana, who sustained extreme burn wounds when a kettle filled with boiling water fell on top of her. The Smile Foundation says back-to-back surgeries have been scheduled from today until Sunday.
