# House duo Black Motion leads the 31st annual South African Music Awards nominations. The group received four nominations, including best dance album for The Cradle Of Art, and best produced album. Amapiano hit-maker Kelvin Momo, Afro-soul singer Sjava and Rapper Blxckier have bagged two nominations each. Nominees for the coveted top five categories, album of the year, best newcomer, best male artist, best female artist and best duo or group, will be announced next month. The awards will be held in November.
# The Gautrain, in partnership with PRASA, will run late-night trains for fans attending the Scorpion Kings Live with Friends concert at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria tonight. Commuters can travel on Gautrain to Pretoria Station and transfer seamlessly to PRASA trains heading directly to the stadium. Return services will operate between Hatfield and Park Stations, excluding Rhodesfield and OR Tambo. Gautrain CEO Tshepo Kgobe says the initiative ensures safe, efficient transport while easing road congestion.
Staying with music
# Pop star Ariana Grande will be going on her first tour in seven years, starting in June next year. The Eternal Sunshine Tour is named after her latest album, which came out in March last year. She will perform in Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago, Montreal and more North American cities before finishing with five shows at the O2 Arena in London in August. The Eternal Sunshine album spent three weeks on top the Billboard 200 and had two number-one singles.

# Colin Mkosi from Langa in Cape Town is the overall winner of the 2025 Standard Bank Kasi SME National Pitch Challenge. Mkosi won 200-thousand-rand for his business, Cloudy Deliveries, which uses bicycles to do deliveries to local restaurants, supermarkets, and other stores. Second place went to Sibongile Mongadi’s Uku Hamba from Gauteng, followed by the Western Cape’s Lusapho Njine’s Keiskamma Hygiene Services. Standard Bank’s Naledzani Mosomane says they are incredibly proud of all the participants:
# And finally: With Fine-free Week coming up in Cape Town, patrons once again have the opportunity to return their outstanding library items without fearing fines. During the previous two amnesty periods, more than 1.3-million-rand worth of library items were returned. Fine-free Week is running from Monday to next Saturday. Mayoral committee member for Community Services and Health, Francine Higham, says literature is important as it impacts on dignity and human rights:
