# Eastern Cape premier Oscar Mabuyane says more green hydrogen investments are needed at the Coega Special Economic Zone. The premier spent three days in Japan with Electricity and Energy minister, Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, wooing potential investors in the green hydrogen industry. Provincial government spokesperson, Khuselwa Rantjie, says the visit marked a crucial step in South Africa’s strategy to establish itself as a global leader in green hydrogen production and export, aligning with Japan’s ambitious net-zero goals:
# The City of Cape Town has received a donation of ten seal stretchers to help with the handling of large seal carcasses along the coastline. The stretchers will also be used for rescuing dolphins and other sea creatures. A few thousand seals wash up dead each year, especially after pupping season. Deputy mayor Eddie Andrews says the seal population in Cape Town is primarily found at Duiker Island, where it varies between seven- and eight-thousand at any given time, and approximately 20-thousand at Seal Island.
# And finally: Last month had been ranked as the second warmest November in America, just behind the record-warm November of last year. According to the American Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Asia recorded its warmest November ever, while Oceania and South America saw their second warmest. This year is poised to be the warmest on record.
