# SANParks will host its inaugural Vision 2040 Indaba in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape next month. The indaba will bring together key stakeholders across government, farming communities, civil society, sponsors, the private sector, land claimant communities, and conservation partners. SANParks’ spokesperson, JP Louw, says the indaba will collaborate biodiversity conservation, social justice and economic empowerment:
# The Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse urges homeowners and businesses to delay registering their solar photovoltaic and battery systems with Eskom until current concerns are resolved. This follows a constructive meeting between the organisation and the power utility’s distribution management, where concerns were raised about costly and restrictive registration rules. OUTA CEO Wayne Duvenage says Eskom has agreed to review the concerns and will respond soon:
# And finally: Talks in Geneva to craft a landmark treaty to tackle the global scourge of plastic pollution entered its second week, with countries still at loggerheads four days before a deadline. Plastic pollution is so commonplace that microplastics have been found on the highest mountain peaks, in the deepest ocean trench and scattered throughout almost every part of the human body. Some of the 184 countries meeting at the United Nations held informal talks to try to get things moving, but no game-changing shifts occurred.
