# The South African Weather Service has warned of significant weather changes this weekend. A Spring cut-off low will bring cold, wet, and windy conditions, with snowfall expected in southern and eastern parts of the country. KwaZulu-Natal, the Eastern Cape, Free State, and Gauteng will experience a dramatic shift after a recent heatwave. The public and farmers are urged to prepare for adverse conditions as temperatures drop significantly from today onwards.
# Public Works and Infrastructure deputy minister Sihle Zikalala says green hydrogen economy projects have attracted over 800-billion-rand in investments. Speaking at the Green Hydrogen conference in Sandton, he highlighted key initiatives, including green hydrogen and ammonia production facilities across various provinces. Zikalala urged collaboration to expand local manufacturing and green hydrogen infrastructure development, aiming to produce up to 13-million tons of green hydrogen annually by 2050:
# And an electric motorcycle, designed and built in Africa and powered only by the sun, will tackle the long drive from Nairobi, Kenya, to Stellenbosch, in the Western Cape, next month. Stellenbosch University researchers have joined forces with Roam, a technology-driven electric mobility company in Nairobi to test the Roam Air. It will be covering approximately six-thousand kilometres with only solar power as an energy source. The motorcycle will be ridden by PhD candidate and co-researcher on the project, Stephan Lacock, and Roam’s Masa Kituyi.
