Meanwhile, the Umalusi Council chairperson, John Volmink, has commended the Department of Basic Education for conducting a successful 2021 National Senior Certificate examination. # Just ten years after killing 77 people in Norway, right-wing extremist Anders Behring Breivik today asked a court for parole. AFP reports the 42-year old Breivik appeared before the district court, who convened in the gymnasium of the prison where he is incarcerated for security reasons. He lifted his arm in a Nazi salute to the three judges as they entered the room. The families of his victims have expressed fears Breivik would use the three-day hearing, which is being broadcast live, as a stage to air his political views.
# Rugby: Owen Farrell will captain England in the upcoming Six Nations Championship after coach Eddie Jones announced a 36-man squad today. The 30-year-old veteran of 100 Tests has been sidelined from all rugby since suffering an ankle injury during a Test against Australia at Twickenham in November. Courtney Lawes stood in as skipper for last November’s 27-26 victory over the Springboks. With the in-form Marcus Smith set to start at fly-half for England in their Six Nations opener away to Scotland on 5 February, Farrell could be deployed as a centre.

A spokesperson says the census will collect data about living conditions, access to basic services, and income. The data will be used for planning, monitoring, and evaluation. He urges South Africans to register their households on the Statistics South Africa website. More information can be obtained on the website www.census.statssa.gov.za.
