# South African tractors sales were up by four-percent year on year last month and the total of 856 units sold was the highest since October 2014. The combined harvesters’ sales were up by 73-percent year on year. A spokesperson for the South African Agricultural Machinery Association says this places total tractors sales for the first ten months of this year at six-thousand-238 units. The robust sales are attributed to another excellent agricultural season and higher commodities prices boosting farmers’ finances and, subsequently, machinery sales.
# The mega Limpopo fruit producer, ZZ2, says they have reached their mark of harvesting 90-percent of their cherry harvest this week. A spokesperson, Philé van Zyl, thanked all involved in the process of growing, harvesting, packing, and supplying local and international customers. The cherries will be locally available at 17 fresh produce markets in all nine provinces, with the newest market being in the Eastern Cape. There are about 30 production units of cherries in South Africa.
# The Kenyan National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a business forum meeting in Tshwane. The Kenyan Chamber chairperson, Richard Ngatia, said the objective of the forum was to underscore the significant role of the two chambers in facilitating trade between Kenya and South Africa. Ngatia guaranteed the support of the Chamber to its 47-thousand members to access information on the available trade opportunities in South Africa. He also invited South African investors to invest in its Special Economic Zones.
# The winner of the 2021 Investor of the Year Awards, Capetonian Darren Francis, received a standing ovation for his property deal in the Cape Flats that is creating employment. He received the award at the SA Property Investors Network’s glittering Johannesburg celebration. Francis renovated a dilapidated piece of land and turned it into a multi-let property. The annual awards brought together investors and corporations, but CEO Andrew Walker says the awards are also about social responsibility awareness:

# And finally Horse racing: The Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency says it is time to gear up for the annual and traditional Berlin November race, taking place at the Berlin Racecourse in Buffalo City. A spokesperson says the race is recognised as one of South Africa’s premier traditional horse racing experiences and has become an event not to be missed. The event includes thrilling horse races with some of the province’s best jockeys, live bands, celebrities, and a fashion parade. The agency says they are a proud partner to the event.
