# National Assembly speaker Thoko Didiza has declined to grant the request of parliament’s ad hoc committee to subpoena businessman Brown Mogotsi and private forensic investigator Paul O’Sullivan. The committee had sought to compel both men to appear physically for testimony. Didiza highlighted that both individuals raised security concerns, warning that denying O’Sullivan’s application for virtual testimony without a sound reason could lead to legal trouble. She added that subpoenas cannot be issued arbitrarily and must serve the specific aims of the inquiry.
Meanwhile, EFF leader Julius Malema has slammed the speaker for her deliberate failure to protect the image and integrity of Parliament. Malema says Mogotsi and O’Sullivanhave failed to provide prima facie evidence of any security concerns, yet Didiza continues to dance to the tune of these individuals:

In return, Trump stated that a reduction of reciprocal tariffs on Indian goods from 25-percent to 18-percent effective immediately.
