# The late former deputy president David Mabuza’s daughter from a previous marriage has filed an urgent application in the High Court in Mpumalanga to block the release of his pension fund payout to his widow, Nonhlanhla Mnisi. Tamara Silinda, who claims Mabuza was married to her mother Emunah in customary union, wants Alexander Forbes to be prevented from making any payout from the estate until the matter of the rightful beneficiaries is concluded. She claims that she is owed a portion of the 44.7-million-rand for her living and education expenses.

He called for anyone with information to come forward:
# Embattled Stellenbosch Municipality Human Resources manager, Alexander Kannemeyer, has resigned from his acting role as corporate services director. He faced criticism earlier this month after a video clip in which he allegedly said top-scoring white job candidates should be frustrated so they eventually resign. DA spokesperson, Willie Aucamp, told News24 that by resigning, Kannemeyer has side-stepped the municipal council’s attempts to legally suspend him. He adds that they still want the matter investigated.
# President Donald Trump has said “Putin has really let me down” as he spoke alongside Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer during a press conference at Chequers. Starmer said that Putin has “shown his true face” in recent days, adding that they need to put “pressure” on the Russian president. Trump said he is very disappointed that he hasn’t been able to settle the war in Ukraine:
# Cricket: South Africa and Pakistan’s women’s teams return to Lahore today for the second one-day match after the Proteas won the first encounter by eight wickets. The hostesses posted a competitive 255 for four, but Marizanne Kapp and Tazmin Brits both scored undefeated centuries to help the visitors easily reach the target. The final ODI will be played on the same field on Monday, whereafter the teams will begin warm-up matches for the one-day World Cup in India and Sri Lanka, starting on the 30th.
