# We start with rugby: Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus has been forced to make a late change to his team that will face Australia in their Rugby Championship opener against Australia at Ellis Park tomorrow. This is due to the withdrawal of Jan-Hendrik Wessels, who suffered a niggle at training on Wednesday. Prop Boan Venter will provide front-row cover off the bench. The strong field also includes Portugal’s Stephen Ferreira, who boasts 13 Sunshine Tour top-10 finishes and one victory, Germany’s Allen John, and South Africa’s Pieter Moolman.
# Motorsport: Red Bull Racing has severed its last formal links with Christian Horner, removing him as a director of the two main companies behind its Formula 1 operations. The 51-year-old was removed from his position as Red Bull team principal and CEO last month, marking the end of his 20-year reign at the helm. Documents filed with the official keeper of business records in the UK, Companies House, show Horner has been removed from the boards of both Red Bull Racing and Red Bull Technologies.
# And finally, tennis: Defending champion Jannik Sinner cruised into the Cincinnati Open semifinals with a straight sets victory over Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime. The Italian will face French qualifier Terence Atmane, who defeated Danish player Holger Rune to reach his maiden ATP Masters One-thousand semifinal. In the women’s draw, American Coco Gauff has set up a quarterfinal clash with Jasmine Paolin after beating another Italian, Lucia Bronzetti. Paolini eased past Barbora Krejcikova of the Czech Republic.
