# About 60 people were arrested in San Francisco after demonstrators gathered in the northern Californian city to protest against US president Donald Trump’s immigration raids. The protest comes in the wake of demonstrations triggered in downtown Los Angeles by immigration raids, that have resulted in dozens of arrests of what authorities say are illegal migrants and gang members.
# Soccer: Mamelodi Sundowns had departed to the US ahead of the Club World Cup, starting on the 15th of this month. The Brazillians face Dortmund, Fluminense, and Ulsan in Group F, kicking off against Ulsan on the 18th. # And finally: UK research shows the ocean is darkening due to climate change, which is now threatening marine ecosystems. Less sunlight is now reaching the photic zone, affecting seaweed and phytoplankton, which are vital for marine life and carbon absorption. Pollution and altered ocean currents are among the key causes. Experts say with over 20-percent of oceans affected, species are now competing for survival. According to scientists, the shift also limits the ocean’s ability to absorb carbon dioxide.
