# KwaZulu-Natal Police are currently investigating circumstances around the disappearance of a Comrades runner who was reported missing after the race. Moira Harding from Cape Town finished the 98th Comrades Marathon, but disappeared. Police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says the woman was found this morning after an intensive search by police’s Search and Rescue officials, working with other law enforcement and private entities:
# Staying in the province: Authorities are working with the Aeronautical Rescue Coordination Centre after a light aircraft with three people onboard went missing yesterday. The plane left Virginia Airport but failed to reach its destination. It was last tracked over Ladysmith. Severe weather is believed to be a factor. The provincial Transport Department is coordinating forums and communities to assist the search. Spokesperson Ndabezinhle Sibiya says they are committed to support the rescue efforts:
# The Eastern Cape Transport Department says the Lootsberg Pass on the N9 between Graaff Reinet and Middelburg has been closed to traffic as snow continues to fall in the province. The South African Weather Service issued a warning of snowfalls that will be disruptive, affecting traffic flow over mountain passes. The department’s spokesperson, Unathi Binqose says the snow is getting thicker on the Lootsberg Pass road:
# The Road Traffic Infringement Agency has confirmed that the administrative adjudication of road traffic offences is currently just rolled out in Johannesburg and Tshwane. The agency has issued a stern warning over false information and misleading reports about the AARTO rollout. Spokesperson Monde Mkalipi emphasised that any national expansion reports are untrue. He urges caution and advises the public to verify all AARTO-related updates.
# Rugby: Former New Zealand captain Stu Wilson has passed away at the age of 70. He represented the All Blacks 85 times, including in 34 Tests between 1976 and 1983, and scored 51 tries. Wilson became the first wing to captain New Zealand when he led the side on an eight-match tour of Scotland and England in 1983. New Zealand Rugby chairperson David Kirk, who played alongside Wilson during the 1983 tour, says he was one of the finest wings to have played the game.
# And the financial indicators: The dollar trades at 17-rand-71-cents and the euro at 20-rand-23-cents. One British pound costs 24-rand-3-cents and Bitcoin trades at 107-thousand-251-dollars.
