Good morning. I am……..
In this bulletin:
# The ANC says it enters the GNU process with clear intentions
# DENOSA says the shortage of nurses is nothing short of a devastating crisis
# And Golf: Rory McIlroy leads at the Masters as he chases a career Grand Slam
# The ANC says it held a constructive engagement with the leadership of the DA as part of ongoing efforts to break the current budget impasse and the reconfiguration of the government of national unity. The ANC’s spokesperson, Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri says the party entered the government of national unity process with clear intentions to build broad-based consensus with goas that are non-negotiable:
# The Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa says the shortage of nurses in South Africa is nothing short of a devastating crisis. The organisation’s comments came as the Health minister Aaron Motsoaledi announced the recruitment of just 200 nurses into the public healthcare system. DENOSA’s spokesperson, Sonia Mabunda-Kaziboni says in the face of a nationwide crisis of nurse shortages, this announcement is not only shockingly inadequate but downright insulting to the nursing fraternity:
# The Western Cape Education Department has cautioned that 25-thousand parents of current Grade 7 learners have not yet applied for Grade 8 placement in 2026. MEC David Maynier appeals to parents to apply before the on-time admissions window closes on 15 April. He reiterates that timely applications will assist the government in planning placements for Grade R, 1, and 8 learners in the new academic year:
# Golf: Rory McIlroy moved closer to finally winning the Masters at Augusta with a commanding third-round performance which leaves him two shots clear going into today’s finale. The 35-year-old from Northern Ireland carded a six-under 66 – featuring two eagles – to head a star-stacked leaderboard with a score of 12 under after 54 holes. South-Africa’s Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Thriston Lawrence did not make the cut after the first round, while Charl Schwartzel is still in the running going into the final round.
# And finally: PRASA will run special Metrorail train services today for fans heading to the Nedbank Cup semi-finals. Trains will operate to Loftus Versfeld for the Sundowns versus Kaizer Chiefs clash at 6 pm and to Orlando Stadium for Orlando Pirates versus Marumo Gallants at 3 pm. Shuttle trains will be available every 30 minutes. PRASA says it has also boosted security across stations for fan safety.
