# President Cyril Ramaphosa will inaugurate the first Police Summit this week at the Emperors Palace Convention Centre in Gauteng. It aims to address high crime rates by evaluating current policing methods and exploring more effective strategies for the South African Police Service.
# Young farmers across southern Africa have called for transformation of Africa’s agricultural landscape. This comes amid rising US tariffs under president Donald Trump, raising concerns about potential market disruptions. Delegates gathered at the Farmers Indaba in Pretoria emphasised the need for policy reforms, land access, and funding to bolster food security and economic growth. Agricultural Development Agency CEO Leona Archary called for decisive sector transformation:
# The MK Party has outlined key focus areas for all party structures and members. It was organised by a pro-democracy movement in response to what organisers call a “hostile takeover” and attack on American rights and freedoms. Organisers demanded an end to the billionaire takeover and rampant corruption of the Trump administration; an end to slashing federal funds for programmes working people rely on; and an end to the attacks on immigrants, trans people, and other communities.
# And Rugby: Sharks coach John Plumtree made several changes for the Challenge Cup round of 16 against Lyon tomorrow evening. André Esterhuizen and Yaw Penxe retained their starting spots. Ntuthuko Mchunu, Fez Mbatha and Ruan Dreyer form the new starting front row, while Corné Rahl and Gerbrandt Grobler start at lock.
