# ANC Study Group on Basic Education is calling on minister of Basic Education Siviwe Gwarube to prioritise the urgent needs of schools, especially those in under-resourced areas across the country. This comes after the controversial introduction of portable desks in disadvantaged schools. The party condemned the MacDonalds-branded portable desks. The ANC’s Tshepo Louw says it is essential to engage with sponsors and partners in a manner that directs their contributions toward sustainable solutions in the most vulnerable areas:
# The Activists and Citizens Forum says Afriforum and Solidarity are busy with what it calls, a dangerous and destructive game. Spokesperson Dennis Bloem says the organisations are busy opening old wounds inflicted by their Apartheid leaders. For AfriForum and Solidariteit to go to the US and spread lies about South Africa must be condemned by all patriotic South Africans. He says the victims of apartheid are trying very hard not to be vengeful against their perpetrators:

ActionSA’s Mpumi Edward says recent revelation confirmed that a city director spent more than R62.5-million-rand to purchase 20 cars in 2019 only to receive 12 of the acquired cars. She says six years later, the city cannot account for eight remaining cars, yet the accounting officers implicated are still roaming within the city’s corridors:
# Golf: South Africa’s Dylan Naidoo shares a one-shot lead at the SA Open with Englishman Laurie Canter after the third round at the Durban Country Club. The 28-year old Naidoo parred the last hole yesterday for a round of 71 and a share of the lead with Canter on 14 under par. Naidoo and Canter will go into today’s final round one shot clear of England’s Marco Penge, while former SA Open champion Branden Grace, Darren Fichardt and amateur Christiaan Maas are currently tied fourth on 12 under par.
# And, the GOOD Party says it continues to call for the protection of the rights of LGBTQIA+ citizens as enshrined in the South African constitution. This comes as Cape Town hosted its annual Pride festival yesterday and Mardi Gras in Green Point. The GOOD Parrty’s Keagen Gertse says the party rises for equality and human rights. He says GOOD’s commitment to LGBTQIA+ rights aligns with its core values of fairness, justice, and dignity:
