# Over 20-thousand white South Africans inquire about relocating to the US
# And rugby: Ireland make sure of their win against Scotland
# The ANC has strongly condemned the US administration’s continued interference in South Africa’s affairs. Last Friday, US president Donald Trump suspended all financial aid to the country over the Expropriation Act. He also announced that his administration wanted to resettle Afrikaner refugees in America. The ANC says these actions are a direct assault on the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. It adds that it has always believed in the right of all nations to determine their own destiny, free from external interference.
Meanwhile, the South African Chamber of Commerce in the US says it has received over 20-thousand inquiries from white South Africans who wish to relocate to America. The chamber’s president, Neil Diamond, told the SABC that there will be a potential mass exodus of skilled agricultural professionals from the country:
# The DA in Gauteng says it will today lay a complaint against the Ekurhuleni Department of Water and Sanitation to the South Africa Human Rights Commission. This is for the non-payment of bucket toilet suppliers at informal settlements. The DA’s, Refiloe Nt’sekhe, says the department has not been consistent in paying suppliers. She adds that consequently, the suppliers are struggling to maintain the toilet facilities, leaving residents without access to sanitation:
# Rugby: Ireland interim head coach, Simon Easterby, lauded his side’s performance in their dominant bonus point 32-18 Six Nations victory over Scotland at Murrayfield. Tries from Calvin Nash, captain Caelan Doris, James Lowe, and Jack Conan, plus 12 points off the boot of rookie fly-half Sam Prendergast saw Ireland to victory, as they maintain their bid for an unprecedented third straight title. Easterby says the players delivered a lot of what they worked on in the week:
# The financial indicators: The dollar trades at 18-rand-49-cents and the euro at 19-rand-8-cents. One British pound costs 22-rand-93-cents and Bitcoin trades at 97-thousand-038-dollars. Gold sells at two-thousand-876-dollars-93-cents a fine ounce and Brent crude oil is quoted at 74-dollars-95-cents a barrel.
# And finally, National Assembly speaker, Thoko Didiza, and National Council of Provinces chairperson, Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane, have described the first president of democratic Namibia, Sam Nujoma, as a revolutionary leader. The 95-year-old died in hospital over the weekend. After Namibia attained independence and freedom in 1990, he served as the country’s first democratically elected president for 15 years. The presiding officers of Parliament say throughout his life Nujoma was an activist for freedom and a champion of social justice and a fair new world order.
