# And rugby: Scotland will face the Boks without a winger who scored four tries against Fiji
# Several American news services, including NBC News and CNN, have projected Donald Trump as the next American president. Trump, the once and now future president, capped an improbable political comeback by defeating vice president Kamala Harris on promises to turbocharge the economy and deport undocumented immigrants by the millions. Voters chose him despite warnings from the left and his own former aides that he will rule as an authoritarian. He is the only American president impeached twice, indicted four times and convicted of criminal activity.
# The Independent Police Investigative Directorate says it’s moving forward with criminal and disciplinary actions against nine police members linked to the murder of Cape Town anti-gang unit detective Charl Kinnear in 2020. IPID has declassified its report and identified seven officials from the South African Police Service and two from the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation. Lead investigator Mario September says IPID is working with the National Prosecuting Authority to review an earlier decision not to prosecute:
# The Department of Home Affairs is developing a five-year plan to allow doorstep delivery of documents through a premium service, aiming to eliminate routine branch visits. Spokesperson Duwayne Esau confirmed this initiative is part of Home Affairs’ vision to fully automate and digitise services. Esau says minister Leon Schreiber’s “Home Affairs At Home” plan responds to budget constraints and aims to bring services directly to citizens’ homes.
# Rugby: Scotland will face the Springboks in Edinburgh on Sunday without winger Darcy Graham, who scored four tries during last weekend’s 57-17 victory over Fiji. He suffered a head injury while scoring the fourth try and coach Gregor Townsend confirmed he will not be available. Kyle Rowe, who impressed for Glasgow Warriors during the recent United Rugby Championship victory over the Stormers, recovered from an injury he sustained against Fiji and could be Graham’s replacement against South Africa.
# The financial indicators: The dollar trades at 17-rand-68-cents and the euro at 18-rand-96-cents. One British pound costs 22-rand-77-cents and Bitcoin trades at 73-thousand-844-dollars-80-cents. Gold sells at two-thousand-718-dollars-84-cents a fine ounce and Brent crude oil is quoted at 74-dollars-47-cents a barrel.
# And finally: ActionSA says it takes pride in celebrating the resilience, strength, and contributions of persons with disabilities in the country. November is National Disability Rights Awareness Month. Approximately 3.3 million people are living with a disability in South Africa. ActionSA’s, Khomo Mashala, says the recognition and inclusion of disability issues within the mainstream dialogue are not just normal imperatives, they are essential to fostering an equitable and just society:
