# The Institute of Race Relations and the South African Human Rights Commission will meet this week to address the contentious issue of racial classification in South Africa. The institute’s campaign manager, Makone Maja, emphasises that reliance on apartheid-era classifications continues to harm society. The federation’s Rolene Marks urges government to use its influence to demand the hostages’ release and support efforts to bring peace to the region.
