This year, 732-thousand-448 full-time and 136-thousand-195 part-time candidates are registered to write their final exams. Sadtu’s spokesperson, Nomusa Cembi says they are concerned that out of the 1.1-million learners who began Grade 10 two years ago, only 827-thousand will be writing these exams, with close to 200-thousand learners from that cohort not taking part:

# Soccer: Manchester United came back from behind to beat Brentford 2-1 on Saturday for their first win after losing their five previous games. The victory eased the pressure on manager Erik ten Hag who has been under increasing scrutiny in recent weeks after United won just three of their first 10 games of the campaign in all competitions. Meanwhile, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta admitted that his team’s shock 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth was an accident waiting to happen. Arsenal’s loss has cost them the chance to go above Liverpool at the top of the table.
# And, paragliders in Egypt this week were treated to the unexpected sight of a stray hound at the summit of one of the Great Pyramids. The dog was recorded at the top of Khafre, the second tallest pyramid, which is off-limits to humans. It was seemingly chasing some birds at the summit of the 136-metre-high structure. Another video the next day showed what appeared to be the same dog safely making its way down the pyramid. The videos quickly went viral on social media, with the first one getting millions of views on Instagram overnight.
