# Former KwaZulu-Natal premier Willies Mchunu has resigned from the party, after facing backlash for his views on the government of national unity. The ANC veteran described the backlash as a horrific experience. He resigned from his ANC branch, citing an inability to add value due to the party’s current direction. Mchunu expressed disappointment in the ANC’s commitment to its founding principles but hoped to maintain good relationships with former colleagues. He is joining former president Jacob Zuma’s MK Party.

Earlier, Nonkululeko Mlaba was the pick of the South African bowlers, taking four wickets in her four overs. The Proteas’ next encounter is against England in Sharjah on Monday, followed by group matches against Scotland and Bangladesh.

Gold sells at two-thousand-646-dollars-55-cents a fine ounce and Brent crude oil is quoted at 78-dollars-19-cents a barrel.
# And finally: There has been a significant decline in women’s representation in the National Assembly during the seventh administration.
