# The City of Cape Town’s Human Settlements Directorate says it is on a mission to build stronger communities through its title deeds programme. Approximately 12-thousand title deeds need to be delivered to qualifying residents and the metro is making significant progress towards reaching this goal. Mayoral committee member for Human Settlements, Carl Pophaim, says the programme has been the cornerstone of the metro’s work to empower communities, by promoting home ownership and sustainable development in communities.
# Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant says the public must be calm after the military launched its most widespread wave of air strikes against Iran-backed Hezbollah. The attacks targeted Lebanon’s south, the eastern Bekaa valley and the northern region near Syria. According to Gallant they are deepening their attacks in Lebanon, and the actions will continue until they have achieved their goal to return the northern residents safely to their homes. The attacks came amid some of the heaviest cross-border exchanges in a year between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
# Soccer: Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says it will take a few days to know the extent of the injury of midfielder Rodrigo Cascante, known as Rodri. The Spain international went off in the 21st minute of City’s two-all draw against Arsenal in the Premier League. Since signing Rodri in 2019, City has won 74-percent and lost eleven-percent of the games when he plays, compared to 64-percent wins and 24-percent losses when he misses out. Guardiola thinks the result may have been different had Rodri stayed on the pitch.
