# The Presidency has confirmed that deputy president Paul Mashatile is recovering after collapsing yesterday during the N’wamitwa Day celebrations in Limpopo’s Greater Tzaneen. Limpopo premier Phophi Ramathuba explained that Mashatile felt lightheaded due to the heat while delivering his keynote address. Presidential spokesperson Keith Khoza assured the public that there is no cause for concern:
# A Nigerian drug mule has been arrested at the OR Tambo International Airport with drugs hidden in headphones. The arrest followed the mule’s suspicious hand-off of airline headphones to a cleaner. This is the ninth arrest in two months at the airport. Thirteen-million-rand’s worth of drug were seized, including cocaine worth 12-million-rand. Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe applauds the airport’s multidisciplinary team for their prompt action:
# The Black Entrepreneurs Alliance says it’s too early to determine if the government of national unity’s policies will benefit black businesses. Speaking to the SABC, CEO Refilwe Monageng called for a policy review on black business, stressing the need for financial support and inclusivity to tackle systemic barriers. He affirmed the alliance’s aim to collaborate with the government:
# Pope Francis has decried the deaths of Palestinian children in Israeli military strikes in Gaza. Speaking to reporters, Francis called the bombing of schools, on the presumption of striking Hamas militants, ugly. He expressed his doubt about the commitment of both Israel and Hamas, now at war for eleven months, to seeking an end to the conflict. # And, rugby: The Sharks secured their place in the final of the Currie Cup after winning their semi-final encounter against the Bulls through a try count after extra time at Loftus Versfeld last night. After 100 minutes of rugby, the Bulls and Sharks were still level at 40-40 Having played with 12 players at one stage, the Sharks stunned the home team to secure their place in the Currie Cup final via a try count tiebreaker. . In the other semifinal at Ellis Park the Lions beat the defending champions, the Cheetahs by 43-34. The finals of the Currie Cup will take place at Ellis Park on Saturday.
