# President Cyril Ramaphosa has emphasised the need for substantial investments in sustainable infrastructure, green technologies, and social programmes. Ramaphosa called for blended finance to attract private-sector investment. The president highlighted the importance of international development finance and pledges from the Paris Agreement and COP26 as sources of capital. He urges collaboration among government, business, and communities to build a climate-resilient and sustainable future for South Africa:
# Transport minister Barbara Creecy says her first task in the seventh administration is to stabilise the transport system and make the department is fit to fulfil its policy-making and regulatory role. She presented the department’s budget vote yesterday. The minister says every year, the country sees more than ten-thousand fatal crashes, which amount to almost three-percent of the annual Gross Domestic Product. Creecy also highlighted the department’s mission:
# Gauteng MEC for Education, Matome Chiloane, will attend a memorial service at Grace Bible Church in Carletonville, for eleven learners who died in a tragic accident. The collision in the Kokosi-Wedela area last week involved a learner transport vehicle and a bakkie. The bakkie hit the learner transport leading to its explosion. The driver of the bakkie is expected to face criminal charges. Investigations continue as calls for stricter regulations on learner transport intensify.
# Former US president Donald Trump’s classified documents case has been dismissed by a judge in Florida. The indictment accused the former president of keeping files at his Mar-a-Lago club, including in a ballroom and a shower, and lying to investigators. In the ruling, District Judge Aileen Cannon says Special Counsel Jack Smith, who brought the prosecution, was unlawfully appointed to his role and did not have the authority to bring the case. Trump says this ruling should be the first step in dismissing other criminal cases against him.
# Rugby: Springbok utility back Sacha Feinberg-Mmgomezulu has proven his quality during the disappointing one-point loss to Ireland on Saturday, to end the series at one-all. The 22-year-old was thrown into the deep end when Willie le Roux was injured in the second minute. He has started on the bench for all three Tests this season. Mmgomezulu says he felt more at home as the game progressed on Saturday:

Gold sells at two-thousand-420-dollars-92-cents a fine ounce and Brent crude oil is quoted at 84-dollars-77-cents a barrel.
