Good morning. I am……..
In this bulletin:
# Save South Africa says the EFF leaders and all other looters of VBS Bank must face the full might of the law
# More than four-thousand power request have been received in Cape Town
# And, rugby: The Boks disregard last weekend’s victory over Ireland as they prepare for this afternoon’s onslaught
# The Save South Africa Civic Movement says the EFF leader Julius Malema, deputy president Floyd Shivambu and all other gangsters who looted 1.9-billion-rand from VBS Bank must face the full might of the law. The movement’s Tebogo Mashilompane calls on the National Prosecuting Authority to not shy away when it comes to Malema and Shivambu, as they have been directly mentioned in the former VBS Bank chairperson Tshifhiwa Matodzi’s affidavit:
# The City of Cape Town says by yesterday, it had received more than four-thousand power-related calls, of which three-thousand hade been from the south of the city. The unprecedented volumes are being attended to by electricity teams and progress is being made day and night. Mayoral committee member for Energy, Xanthea Limberg, says they are prioritising all emergency electricity faults in all areas, as well as all large and prolonged area outages:
# Russia’s Emergency Ministry has announced a passenger plane with only crew on board has crashed near Moscow during a test flight following repair works. The Sukhoi Superjet 100 went down in a forest and all three crew members were killed. There were no passengers on board. Russia is reported to have been developing the Sukhoi Superjet for some time to replace Western-made aircraft.
# Rugby: Springbok assistant coach Mzwandile Stick says the team will be playing for all South Africans when they take to the field against Ireland in the Test series decider in Durban this afternoon. Both Stick and captain Siya Kolisi expect a fierce onslaught from the visitors, as the Irish will want to prove why they are the Six Nations champions. Kolisi is not considering being one-up in the series after their 27-20 victory at Loftus. He says it’s a new game, so for them, the series is nil-all.
And, the KwaZulu-Natal premier Thamsanqa Ntuli wishes the Springboks well for their Test against Ireland at Kings Park. Ntuli urges the Boks to emulate their electric performance last Saturday, in their first home Test since winning the Rugby World Cup last year. He encourages the Shark Tank crowd to drown out the Irish supporters with song, dance and drums. Ntuli says the Springboks have consistently demonstrated resilience, determination and an unyielding spirit on the field.
