# Minister Khumbudzo Ntshavheni has outlined that the seventh administration’s priorities will include aligning political party requirements with the objectives of the national development plan. This alignment ensures coherence and focus in government policy and action across diverse political interests. Briefing the media, Ntshavheni says the transition from the sixth to the seventh administration has been completed with the swearing-in of new ministers and deputy ministers:
Meanwhile, Land Reform and Rural Development minister Mzwanele Nyhontso says addressing the land backlog and redistributing land to rightful owners is his top priority. Nyhontso emphasises the importance of rural development through improved infrastructure and proper equipment. He says reforming land policies will grant South Africans better land access and create opportunities in rural areas:

# Australian police have found human remains while searching for a 12-year-old they believe was the victim of a crocodile attack. The boy was last seen on Tuesday, swimming with family near a remote Aboriginal town in the Northern Territory. As many as 40 members of the community helped police in their search for the child. A police sergeant earlier told ABC News a crocodile had been seen in the immediate area, but no details were given on whether the reptile had been found.
# Rugby: Liam Wright was named new Wallaby captain for Saturday’s Test against Wales in Sydney. Coach Joe Schmidt appointed the Reds flanker as successor to Will Skelton, who led Australia during last year’s disastrous World Cup campaign. Skelton is based overseas and wasn’t considered for the series of two Tests against the Welsh. Wright returns after playing the last of his five Tests in 2020, but Schmidt says he is a co-captain of the Reds and the players identified him as a natural leader in the group.
