Good morning. I am……..
In this bulletin:
# The MK party says they will not attend the inauguration of a “DA-sponsored” Ramaphosa
# The PAC decides to participate in the government of national unity
# And Justin Timberlake is charged with drunk-driving
# The MK Party says it will not participate in the farcical inauguration of Cyril Ramaphosa as the puppet DA-sponsored president today. The MK Party’s spokesperson, Nhlamulo Ndhlela says they refuse to join in the spitting on the graves of those who died for freedom by attending the symbolic wedding ceremony of a house negro called Ramaphosa, with the slave master, Hellen Zille. Ndhlela says they cannot celebrate when the ANC has signed another deal with the Freedom Front Plus to recognise and protect the racist enclave called Orania.
The PAC meanwhile has decided it will be part of the government of national unity. The PAC’s Secretary General, Apa Pooe says this strategic decision is driven by the party’s commitment to influence policy positions from within the government. Pooe says the decision is rooted in the belief the PAC can effectively steer the country away from right-leaning tendencies and protect the gains achieved thus far:
# Outgoing minister of Police, Bheki Cele has thanked the people of South Africa for entrusting him with heading the police ministry. Cele was speaking during the police national medal parade at the SAPS Academy in Tshwane West. He also thanked the ANC for appointing him to the position and had advice for whoever will step into the role in the coming days:
# Pop star Justin Timberlake has been charged with drunk driving. The 43-year-old singer was pulled over by the police in Long Island and arrested, after leaving a restaurant where he reportedly was having dinner with friends. According to the Suffolk County district attorney’s office, he was arraigned later on Tuesday and then released. His next court date is scheduled for July 26. Timberlake rose to fame in the popular boy band NSYNC and embarked on a solo recording career in 2002. He has won 10 Grammy awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards.
# A new report backed by climate scientists and athletes warns about the dangers of extreme high temperatures at this year’s Paris Olympics. It could lead to competitors collapsing and in the worst cases even dying. More than five-thousand people died in France as a result of searing summer heat last year when new local highs of over 40 degrees Celsius were recorded. Rather than high temperatures, incessant rain is currently the bigger weather-related concern for organisers, with regular downpours in May and June leading to strong currents in the Seine and poor water quality.
# And the financial indicators: The dollar trades at 18-rand-3-cents and the euro at 19-rand-37-cents. One British pound costs 22-rand-92-cents and Bitcoin trades at 65-thousand-363-dollars-44-cents. Gold sells at two-thousand-330-dollars-15-cents a fine ounce and Brent crude oil is quoted at 85-dollars-34-cents a barrel.
