# Finance minister Enoch Godongwana must consider a policy framework and incentives for the development of a national network of off-grid electric vehicle charging stations powered by renewable energy. This is according to electric vehicle renewable energy charging infrastructure company Zero Carbon Charge. Co-founder and director, Andries Malherbe, says some incentives the minister could consider include rebates for drivers who charge their vehicles with electricity sourced from renewable energy charging facilities. The company is currently building 120 charging facilities that are completely off-grid and powered by solar photovoltaics.
# Build One South Africa is urgently seeking a meeting with Merafong City mayor, Nozuko Best, following a 100-hour water crisis affecting tens of thousands of residents. The dispute between the municipality and Rand Water over an 800-million-rand debt has left communities without water since last Friday. BOSA’s deputy leader, Nobuntu Hlazo-Webster, calls for immediate action to address the water crisis. She hopes the meeting will facilitate collaboration for a swift resolution, ensuring every resident’s constitutional right to clean water:
# And finally: The City of Tshwane is urging residents and interested stakeholders to be part of the regional public participation meetings on the draft Integrated Waste Management Plan. The first meeting is today. The plan aims to introduce a new way of managing waste in the metro. Mayoral committee member for Environment and Agriculture Management, Ziyanda Zwane, says developing new waste management systems will strengthen Tshwane’s ability to provide residents with a clean, safe, and healthy environment:
