# The DA will lay criminal charges against what they call the least wanted terrible ten municipal managers. The six managers from the Free State, two from the Eastern Cape, and one each from North West and the Western Cape are accused of failing to submit financial statements. DA spokesperson Marina van Zyl says they must face consequences for gross negligence and alleged breaches of the Municipal Finance Management Act:

# The Department of Defence and Military Veterans has come under fire in Parliament over delays in tackling the growing encroachment of informal settlements on military bases. The department says the land invasions threaten national security, military readiness, and critical infrastructure. # The City of Cape Town has approved technical assistance to the value of over one-million-rand from the German development agency GIZ, under the South Africa-Germany Energy Programme. The programme is aligned with the metro’s Energy Strategy, as it is structured to support South Africa’s energy transition through collaboration for a reliable, affordable and clean energy system. # Zambians are voting in presidential, parliamentary and local government elections today, with president Hakainde Hichilema seeking a second term. Results are expected on Monday. Hichilema campaigned on Zambia’s economic recovery and debt restructuring, while opposition challenger Brian Mundubile, an experienced parliamentarian but ​first-time presidential candidate, is backed by supporters of late former president Edgar Lungu. A candidate needs more than 50 percent to win outright.

# Cricket: Proteas coach Shukri Conrad says Duan Jansen is a dynamic allrounder cut from the same cloth as his twin brother, Marco, and has been on his radar for some time.
