# Western Cape MEC for Finance, Deidré Baartman says municipalities in the province are updating pre-paid meters at a much higher rate compared to their counterparts in the rest of the country. The Western Cape has now reset approximately 95.9-percent of all meters within municipal supply areas. Baatman says the provincial Treasury has been in continuous engagement with municipalities to ensure that the province reaches its target of a 100-percent reset:
