# Water scarcity in the Eastern Cape has resulted in an increase in high school dropouts in the province. According to Mnceba Secondary School principle, Vuyani Feketha, learning and teaching has been severely affected due to learners’ responsibility to fetch water for their households before attending classes. Feketha says 60 learners have dropped out of his school thus far. According to Alfred Nzo District Municipality a 28-million-rand water project, that is meant to benefit 2-thousand-345 households, is expected to be completed in March next year.
