UN report anticipates global trade rebound despite challenges

# The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development’s latest report forecasts a rebound in international trade this year. The report indicates despite a three-percent year-on-year contraction in global trade in 2023, driven by subdued demand in developed nations, the fourth quarter of 2023 saw stabilisation. Developing countries, especially in Africa and Asia, experienced growth. The report indicates a rising demand for environmental goods, such as electric vehicles, is expected to bolster trade.
