# Umalusi Council chairperson, John Volmink, has commended the Department of Basic Education for conducting a successful 2021 National Senior Certificate examination. According to Volmink, a total of 67 subjects were presented for standardisation. Raw marks were accepted for 35 of the 67 subjects, which means 52 percent of the total number of subjects remain unchanged. Volmink gave the exams a thumbs up:
