# The heroic efforts of Johannesburg Metro Police Department acting sergeant Tebogo Mailula are being lauded. The 33-year-old noticed a crowd gathering outside a building where two little girls, aged two and five, were stuck on a ledge on the third floor. They had climbed out of the window of their locked flat after their mother left them sleeping while she went shopping. Johannesburg public safety spokesperson, Wayne Minnaar, says Mailula got onto the ledge through a neighbouring flat, rescued the girls and returned them to their surprised mother when she got home.
